About Us

Steve and Charla Koska founded Bethany Manor Foundation, Inc, in 1975 to help their daughter, Bethany, who was born with brain damage. Our doors opened at Bethany Manor Development and Learning Center in Downey, California, in 1978. At that time, we began providing therapy services to children and young people, just like Bethany, who had developmental delays, disabilities, or brain injuries.

In 1981, we moved to Cypress, California, and in 1982, opened one of the very first early intervention/infant development programs in Orange County. We worked with children between six months and three years old who were referred by local regional centers.

We also operated a full infant/toddler and preschool program for typical as well as developmentally delayed children for many years. For 10 years, we ran an after-school program for developmentally delayed, disabled, or mentally challenged school-aged children.

In 1997, we moved to Bellflower, California. In 2010, we moved to our current location at 15415 Pioneer Boulevard in Norwalk, California, where we presently offer a fully inclusive/integrated program with therapy services for children between 18 months and five years of age.

Bethany Manor Foundation, Inc, derives its financial support from Regional Center Funding and private fees for services, along with charitable contributions and grants offered by individuals, small businesses, and service clubs. Selective foundation and corporate grants and endowments are being sought. All contributions are tax-deductible.
